Tilda Art

Candy, a fashion magazine that celebrates “transvestism, transexuality, crossdressing and androgyny in all [its] glory,” features TILDA SWINTON as its latest cover star. In the magazine’s fourth issue – “The Extra Extravagance Issue” – she is transformed into a retro-futuristic cabaret diva with a flowing mane of red curls and wrapped in custom gold lamé. See the incredible cover above.

Inside the issue, TILDA poses as a variety of über-glam figures for photographer Xevi Muntané. Here are some of the gorgeous images:

Also this month, TILDA‘s poem Reliable Ghosts has been printed in the second issue of Hunger – the biannual magazine from photographer and publisher Rankin – and is accompanied by Erik Jones’ beautiful illustration (above). You can read the poem below.

    Hello
Very profound and interesting piece by Miss.
    Swinton. Articulating what usually remain
vague movements in the “soul” (or the bowels sometimes!). I would wish she would comment
on paintings by Hammershoej. I’m posessed by the mystery of time.
    Kind regards

As if I needed another reason to love Tilda Swinton. That poem and those photos are gorgeous beyond all reason!
