King Of New York

The Donmar Warehouse’s major new production of Shakespeare’s King Lear, directed by Michael Grandage and starring Sir Derek Jacobi in the titular role, will receive its US premiere later this month at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), New York.

GWILYM LEE (left) stars as ‘Edgar’ in the show, which opened at London’s Donmar Warehouse in December 2010 to great critical acclaim. Since its sold-out West End run, King Lear has been touring the UK, concluding next week (12th-16th April) at Hall For Cornwall.

The production then heads over to New York, where it will show at the Harvey Theatre as part of BAM’s 2011 Spring Season (28th April – 5th June 2011). If you live in New York or are going to be there during this time, be sure to book yourself tickets before they sell out.
