Congratulations to Swedish actor and Hamilton Hodell client RICHARD ULFSATER, who has landed the lead role in The Fjällbacka Murders (Fjällbackamorden), a television series based on the characters in Swedish author Camilla Läckberg’s bestselling thrillers. Richard will star opposite actress Claudia Galli and the eagerly-awaited adaptations will be produced by Swedish production company Tre Vänner and filmed as ten 90-minute television films and two theatrical features.
“To me it is a dream cast. I see Claudia and Richard as the new hot film couple about to conquer Sweden and the world,” said producer Helen Ahlsson, of Tre Vänner. “This is one of the largest Scandinavian film projects ever, which I think will become a flagship within cosy crime.”
Läckberg’s novel series about Erica Falck and her husband, Patrik Hedström, has sold 3.4 million copies domestically, totalling eight million worldwide, translated into 35 countries.
Oscar-nominated Swedish director Marcus Olsson will helm the first two television movies, set in and around Läckberg’s birthplace, a small town on the Swedish west coast. The first feature will be adapted from her 2007 novel, The German Child (Tyskungen) and principal photography will commence in August.
