Weekend, written and directed by Andrew Haigh and starring CHRIS NEW, has just won the Grand Jury Award for Outstanding International Dramatic Feature Film at the 29th Annual Los Angeles Gay And Lesbian Film Festival (Outfest), 2011. Huge congrats to Chris and the team!
The second feature from writer/director Haigh, Weekend is a (sort of) love story between two guys as a one-night stand gradually develops into something much deeper over the course of a weekend they spend together.
The film has been going down a storm across the festival circuit over the last six months, having won a number of prestigious awards already, including the Audience Award at the 21st Annual Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film and Video Festival, the Bridgestone Grand Jury Prize (Narrative Competition) at the Nashville Film Festival and the Emerging Visions Audience Award at South By Southwest Film Festival.
Weekend will be released internationally in late 2011. For more information on the film, you can visit the Weekend website and you can check out the trailer below.
