Forever ENDEAVOUR

**UPDATE**
Endeavour will be broadcast on
2nd January 2012
at 9:00pm on ITV1

Eleven years after Inspector Morse died of a heart attack at Oxford College, the beloved character made famous by the late John Thaw will return as a fledgling detective constable just starting out on his crime-fighting career back in 1965, in a one-off crime drama prequel called Edeavour.

Liverpool actor and Hamilton Hodell client SHAUN EVANS will play the younger Detective Constable Endeavour Morse who ends up in Oxford while investigating the case of a missing schoolgirl, which eventually becomes a full-blown murder inquiry. The feature-length Endeavour, written by Russell Lewis and filmed in Oxford, will be broadcast by ITV in early 2012 to mark the 25th anniversary of the first ever Inspector Morse, shown in 1987.

On stepping into the iconic shoes, EVANS said: “Morse as a young man is a wonderful character that I’m very excited to be playing…My hope is that we can complement what’s come before, by telling a great story, and telling it well.”

ITV’s Director of Drama Laura Mackie said Endeavour is “beautifully written” and “provides many nods to Morse’s unique character traits for fans”.

We’ll let you know as soon as Endeavour‘s official air date has been announced.
