So who’s been watching ITV1’s hilarious new comedy Great Night Out? If not, it’s time to start!
Great Night Out is a lively, upbeat comedy drama set in Stockport in the North of England and starring WILLIAM ASH and CHRISTINE BOTTOMLEY. It’s about the exploits of a close-knit group of mates – Beggsy, Daz, Glyn and Hodge, four thirty-somethings who have known each other since childhood – as they enjoy a weekly boys’ get-together in Stockport. As they help each other through romantic, work and family crises, they invariably create much bigger problems to solve. Great Night Out charts the lads’ attempts to right their worldly wrongs – so long as they don’t have to move too far from their local, the footie or greasy spoon to do so.
WILLIAM ASH plays Beggsy – an upbeat soul, divorced for a year but still pining after his ex-wife who has fled the country with her new hubby, taking their daughter Kelly with her. CHRISTINE plays Julie, a girl the lads knew from school and the object of Glyn (Craig Parkinson)’s affections. Ricky Tomlinson also stars as the local pub landlord.
Great Night Out is a 6-parter, currently airing on Fridays at 9pm on ITV1. Episode 3 is on this week, but if you aren’t yet up-to-date, you can watch episodes 1 & 2 on ITV Player.
