The much-celebrated annual South By Southwest Festival takes place this year between 8th-16th March in Austin, Texas. The Film Features line-up boasts 109 films, including three great features starring HH clients.

First up is Imagine, written and directed by Andrzej Jakimowski and starring EDWARD HOGG in the leading role.

He plays Ian, a special instructor for the visually impaired who has been hired by a Lisbon school to help blind children and young adults. However, his unusual teaching methods are not only challenging, but also dangerous…

Imagine will screen in the ‘Festival Favourites’ category – “Acclaimed standouts and selected previous premieres from festivals around the world. ”

Also screening at the festival is the North American premiere of Kelly + Victor, directed by Kieran Evans and starring JULIAN MORRIS.

Adapted from the acclaimed novel by Niall Griffiths and shot in Liverpool, UK, Kelly + Victor is a raw, compelling, passionate love story set against the backdrop of a highly cinematic Liverpool, to a searing soundtrack. We follow Kelly and Victor (JULIAN) as they tragically descend down their path of infatuation, from their first meeting through their increasingly aggressive sexual encounters.

Kelly + Victor  screens in the ‘Visions’ category – “Audacious, risk-taking artists in the new cinema landscape that demonstrate raw innovation and creativity in documentary and narrative filmmaking.”

The third film screening at SXSW is the North American premiere of Good Vibrations, from directors Lisa Barros D’sa and Glenn Leyburn and starring KERR LOGAN.

The film is a chronicle of Terri Hooley’s life, a a radical, rebel and music lover in 1970s Belfast, who opens a record store called ‘Good Vibrations’ and becomes instrumental in developing Belfast’s punk-rock scene. Galvanising the young musicians into action, he becomes the unlikely leader of a motley band of kids and punks who join him in his mission to create a new community to bring his city back to life. KERR stars as Feargal Sharkey, lead singer of The Undertones.

Good Vibrations screens in the ’24 Beats Per Second’ category – “Showcasing the sounds, culture and influence of music and musicians, with an emphasis on documentary.”

If you’re going to be at the festival, be sure to check out all 3 excellent movies. Visit the SXSW website for a full schedule and further info.

Great to see that Good Vibrations gets a mention here, but to say that Kerr Logan stars in this film is a bit misleading – he is in it for all of about 5 minutes. Do the world a favour and mention the real stars of the movie like Richard Dormer and Jodie Whittaker.
