Earlier this month (in our blog post ‘Emma Is P.L. Travers‘) we showed you the first still image from upcoming Disney feature film Saving Mr. Banks, starring EMMA THOMPSON as the celebrated author P.L. Travers and Tom Hanks as Walt Disney.

Today we bring you the wonderfully sweet new film poster, showing the shadows of Mickey Mouse and Mary Poppins underneath the two main characters, evoking nostalgia for the golden days of Disney.

Inspired by true events, Saving Mr. Banks is the extraordinary untold story of how Disney’s classic film Mary Poppins made it to the big screen, and how the testy relationship between the book’s curmudgeonly, complex author P.L. Travers and the legendary Walt Disney almost derailed the project.

It’s directed by John Lee Hancock and scheduled for release on December 13th 2013 (USA) | January 17th 2014 (UK). Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti and Jason Schwartzman also star. We can’t wait! Here’s the trailer again:

My husband Loren Burch was driving our 1909 Stanley Steamer while I was in Joe’s White Steamer. We were styling in the awsome vintage wardrobe of Western Costume in the 1906 Austraila scene on the backlot of Universal. The space shuttle buzzed our set while we all were amazed.
