MATHEW BAYNTON and James Corden star in this tense, action-packed comedy thriller about a lowly Berkshire County Council worker and a luckless Town Planning and Noise Guidance Advisor who, on witnessing a tragic accident on the way to work one morning, accidentally become involved in a case of mistaken identity. Channel 4 has landed one of the hottest new TV dramas to come out of the US this year – a show that’s witty, fun, sharp and action-packed. Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD centres around a small, highly select group of agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Below is a list of other big TV series airing this Autumn, for which the transmission dates have not yet been confirmed. Keep a lookout for the trailers and we’ll bring you more information as we get it.

Coming soon to ITV

Breathless is a stylish and compelling new ITV medical drama set in the 1960s and starring JACK DAVENPORT and NATASHA LITTLE. It follows the lives of a group of doctors and nurses working in a London hospital, a world in which everything and everyone has their place. But underneath the shiny veneer simmers a cauldron of lies, deception and guilty secrets, driven by love, ambition and sex.

The Escape Artist
Coming soon to BBC1

A new BBC 3-parter, The Escape Artist follows the talented barrister Will Burton (played by David Tennant), known for never losing a case and being able to get criminals out of “tight legal corners”. But when Burton agrees to defend a notorious murder suspect and manages to get him off on a technicality, the decision comes back to haunt him. SOPHIE OKONEDO stars in the series.

Mr Sloane
Coming soon to Sky Atlantic

Mr Sloane is a bittersweet romantic comedy in which the titular character (played by NICK FROST) is a buttoned-down 1960s man in crisis. Between his failed attempts at marriage, career success and even suicide, it’s fair to say that 1969 isn’t shaping up to be Watford-dweller Mr Sloane’s year. But with a potential job opportunity on the horizon and the phone number of a prospective new love interest following a chance encounter in his local hardware store, could Mr Sloane’s luck be about to change?

The Paradise (Series 2)
Coming soon to BBC1

Autumn 2013 sees the return of the BBC’s big-budget costume drama The Paradise. The second series reopens the doors to The Paradise store a year after the dramatic events that saw Moray declare his love for Denise and break off his engagement to Katherine Glendenning. MATTHEW McNULTY, who starred in the first series, returns again as Dudley. And BEN DANIELS joins the cast this year as Katherine’s new husband, Tom Weston, an enigmatic former soldier.

Misfits (Series 5)
Coming soon to E4

Misfits is back for its fifth and final series this year. JOSEPH GILGUN returns as Rudy alongside the rest of the gang. The new series will mark the first anniversary of the storm and a support group forms on the estate for those people who find having a super power isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Like… the ability to knit visions of the future, or to shag unwanted powers out of other people (you read that right!) or to transform into a turtle. It’s here in the support group that the misfits begin to see a very different future facing them – one which could change things forever.
