Hit US sci-fi/action blockbuster The Maze Runner opens in UK cinemas tomorrow, Friday 10th October, starring our very own WILL POULTER.
Directed by Wes Ball and based on James Dashner’s 2009 novel of the same name, The Maze Runner is the first installment of a young-adult, post-apocalyptic science fiction trilogy. The story follows sixteen-year-old Thomas, played by Dylan O’Brien, who awakens in a rusty elevator (known as ‘The Box’) with no memory of who he is, only to learn he’s been delivered to the middle of an intricate maze, along with a slew of other boys, who have been trying to find their way out of the ever-changing labyrinth — all while establishing a functioning society in what they call ‘The Glade’. With the maze being the only way out, the boys must become Runners and search for an escape route. But the maze entrance closes at dusk, and no-one has ever survived a night in the maze…
WILL stars as Gally, one of the Gladers and the main villain of the first book/film. Named after Gallileo, he is immediately mistrustful of newcomer Thomas and swiftly becomes his enemy.
The Maze Runner was released last month in the United States, topping the box office on its opening weekend and becomming one of 2014’s biggest hits. It’s received extremely positive reviews, with praise aimed at the cast’s performances as well as the film’s intriguing premise and refreshingly dark tone. It opens here in the UK tomorrow, so make sure you see it on the big screen! Here’s the trailer:
