Fortitude is the brilliant new Sky Atlantic television series written by HH client SIMON DONALD. Its opening episode will premiere tomorrow night, Thursday 29th January at 9pm on Sky Atlantic HD.
The series is set in the small Arctic outpost known as Fortitude – a place like nowhere else. Although surrounded by the savage beauty of the Arctic landscape, Fortitude is one of the safest towns on earth. Everyone has a specific job, so there’s ostensibly no poverty or crime. The polar bears, however, are behaving oddly, and shifting weather and melting ice has brought unexpected artifacts into view. And there has never been a violent crime here. Until now.
A murder forces the local sheriff, Dan Anderssen (played by Richard Dormer), to get involved, and a forensic investigator from the mainland (played by Stanley Tucci) to eventually be sent to help him.
With a darkly hypnotic tone and fantastic script writing by SIMON, Fortitude also boasts an excellent cast: Joining Tucci and Dormer are Michael Gambon, Christopher Eccleston, Sofie Grabol, Jessica Raine, Nicholas Pinnock, Johnny Harris and HH client LUKE TREADAWAY, who stars as Vincent Rattrey, a talented young scientist arriving in Fortitude as part of a team investigating the recent cannibalistic behaviour in the polar bear population, but who is soon drawn into the strange and terrifying events that threaten the town.
Set in the Arctic and filmed amidst the beautiful backdrops of Iceland, Fortitude comprises 12 episodes which will air on Thursday nights. Don’t miss the two-hour, two-episode premiere tomorrow, and check out the trailer below.
