Highly-anticipated new television show Humans – a creepy science fiction thriller/drama series starring HH client RUTH BRADLEY – will premiere on Sunday June 14th at 9pm on Channel 4.
A co-production between Channel 4 and AMC (responsible for modern classics like Breaking Bad, Mad Men and The Walking Dead) with UK production company Kudos (Broadchurch, Utopia), Humans is an eight-part drama set in a dystopian futuristic world where gadgets known as ‘Synths’ are available to purchase at local shopping centres. Synths are essentially robot servants creepily similar to their human counterparts, very difficult to tell apart, and they have become the norm in households throughout the country.
The show follows the story of one struggling family who buy a Synth, soon to find out that life will never be the same again as questions are raised about artificial intelligence, technology-dependance and what it is that makes us human.
Among the cast are William Hurt, Colin Morgan, Gemma Chan, Katherine Parkinson and our very own RUTH, who plays Karen Voss, one of the show’s leading roles. UK viewers: tune in to the show’s premiere on Sunday June 14th. For those of you in America, it will land on AMC on Sunday June 28th. And in case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the creepy trailer, followed by the even creepier ‘Persona Synthetics’ advert:
