HH clients PAM FERRIS and LUKE TREADAWAY will each be voicing characters in the upcoming film version of Raymond Briggs’ autobiographical book Ethel And Ernest, to be shown on the BBC next year.

One of The Snowman author’s best-selling books, Ethel And Ernest tells the true story of Briggs’ parents and details the couple’s life through four decades of marriage, taking in the Great Depression, the Second World War and the swinging ‘60s. Jim Broadbent and Brenda Blethyn will voice the titular characters for this television adaptation, with LUKE playing Briggs himself and PAM playing both Mrs Bennet and Aunty Flo. Virginia McKenna and EastEnders veteran June Brown – aka Albert Square’s Dot Cotton – also star.

Director Roger Mainwood said: “It’s a real privilege to be directing [what] many consider to be Raymond Briggs’ masterpiece…so far Raymond has loved everything he has seen…the actors bring an enormous amount of charm and character to their roles.”

Ethel And Ernest will be shown on the BBC in 2016.
